At its time, it was the largest solar powered water supply scheme in southern Africa entailing three borehole- and two booster pumping installations, a total of 36 km of 63 and 90 mm diameter uPVC pipelines and five round steel type reservoirs supplying water to four rural domestic and livestock water points.

Kuchling Consulting Engineers was responsible for the design and construction supervision of all the civil works, whereas Lund Consulting Engineers carried out all mechanical and electrical design works.
